As I understand it, a man is required to cover his awrah, particularly when praying. If a pair of jeans has intentional rips or holes around the knee or slightly above the knee, through which some of the skin is visible, what is the ruling on wearing such jeans?

For example, if the jeans generally cover the area from the navel to the knees but have holes at the knee or above it, sometimes large enough for part of the skin to be visible, would wearing them be permissible?

And if such jeans are worn outside prayer, is the ruling different from wearing them during salah? Please clarify the ruling and relevant evidence.
