Marriage Is Sunnah?
I have heard ghamdi sahab saying marriage is sunnah….
Given farahi criteria about sunnah, how does marriage fall into this category….
Many of the prophets, and sahabi never married….
Quran mentioning marriage can be due to addressing the fitrah in the context of big division scheme of family system…
And yes , if not marriage, but the tradition or activities of nikkah( like mehar, ijaab o qabool etc) is from the sunnah….then the question still exists that why didn’t many of the sahaba or prophets adopt this nikah…neither can we trace such activities in the marriage of previous prophets..
And, if anybody (male nd female) pronounce eachother as husband nd wife without going through the established activities in nikkah(like mehar and so) as people outside islam do….will their marriage be invalid.

Any way of establishing the relation of a man and woman as husband and wife in a society is nikah and is thus acceptable.
