Sufi Poetry
There are many sufi ghazals and shayari where the address is hinted towards The Divine, one of them goes like this –
Hum Ne Dekha Tujhe Aankhon Ki Siah Putli Mein
Saat Pardon Mein Tujhe Parda-Nasheen Dekh Liya
Hum Nazar Bazon Se Tu Chup Na Saka Jaan e Jahan
Tu Jahan Ja Ke Chupa Hum Ne Wahein Dekh Liya
Tere Deedaar Ki Thi Hum Ko Tamanna So Tujhe
Log Dekhen Gy Wahan Hum Ne Yahein Dekh Liya
I personally find it really catchy and powerful, but while repeating the lyrics, I’m not sure if its an appropriate way to address Allah. There’s a level of informality in the language and I want to know if these kind of words are suitable to use for Allah.
