    Hi,

Here I am presenting some hadiths as sayings of Prophet which don’t look like, medically sound advice. It is possible that these are fabricated hadiths (again most of them are classified Sahih), but would like to know our friends’ opinion on these.

    1. Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said “If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and take it out, for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease. “

    Martyrdom based on disease :

    Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, “He (a Muslim) who dies of an abdominal disease is a a martyr, and he who dies of plague is a martyr.”

Ahmad (23804), Abu Dawood (3111) and al-Nasaa’i (1846) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Who do you regard as martyrs?” They said: The one who is killed for the sake of Allaah. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Martyrs are seven besides the one who is killed for the sake of Allaah. The one who dies of the plague is a martyr, the one who drowns is a martyr, the one who dies of pleurisy is a martyr, the one who dies of a stomach disease is a martyr, the one who is burned to death is a martyr, the one who dies beneath a falling wall is a martyr, and the woman who dies in pregnancy is a martyr.” This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

It means besides being killed in a war in the name of Allah, following people are also martyrs who die this way in the way of Allah. It is basically emphasizing on the fact that only being killed during Qitaal (war) is not the only way to achieve martyrdom, whatever misery you suffer in any other journey in the way of Allah and die eventually, you will achieve the same rank as that of the one who is killed in war.

No.1 assimalhakeem is not a scholar in that sense nor does he claim to be. Any medical advice in hadith so from the prophets صلى الله عليه وسلم knowledge of this world and he was not given revelation for it as he himself says (refer to famous cross pollination incident of medinah).

No.2 إن شاء الله brother @faisalharoon or @UmerQureshi or@Sohail can explain the Hadith about martydom

Until one has not understood what the corpus of hadith really is, what is the value of hadith in understanding the message of God, what are the principles of understanding hadith, and whether we can take individual ahadith to draw any conclusions, this kind of discussions will not prove to be fruitful.

I strongly recommend anyone wanting to intellectually understand and discuss any issues based on hadith to start here:
