Brother from my understanding sunnah is the tradition of the prophets. Eg Allah taught Adam عليه السلام to pray and all the prophets prayed the same way- they were taught what to correct and what to add/subtract depending on any interpolations of their times. The Quran tells us to follow the millah of ibrahim عليه السلام . It tells us to pray. The method for this prayer fasting hajj zakat etc is all found in this sunnatul anbiya.

For us, Prophet Muhammad (sws) is the source of religion, and both Quran and Sunnah have been transmitted to us by Prophet as religion through Ijma and Quoli/Amli Tawatur of Sahabas (rta). We do not have to discern revelation from non-revelation, rather we should discern religion given by Prophet as a whole with other parts not given as religion by the Prophet.
