I like a girl and want to marry her. She was born and raised in UK but has been living in Middle East for the past 4 years; we met in Dubai where both of us are based currently. Her spiritual journey took her to explore Christianity – the religion her parents were born into – for 1-2 years when she was 16, however, it did not resonate with her so she moved on. Few years later, she went to Syria to learn Arabic and get to know Islam as a religion. She spent a year studying Quran in a madrasah in Damascus and she is eloquent in Arabic now. She does not explicitly identify herself as a Muslim but has read Quran and understand the cultural values in this part of the world. Is it permissible per Islamic belief for me to marry her?

Islam in any case permits you to marry chaste women from the Ahle Kitab

What is the definition of chaste women ? If a woman considers Jesus as her lord and savior, is it permitted to marry her?

I don’t think so because that is shirk

A Christian or Jew who believes in one God and does not commit Shirk

But Qur’an said that Christians and Jews commit shirk .. so what kind of Christians don’t believe in Jesus being their lord .. are women who consider Jesus as their lord, aren’t Christians or aren’t Ahle Kitab ?
