Why did Yahya a. s said giving divorce to wife and marrying with brother’s wife after she divorced him is prohibited in sharia.

Please can you give me link or name of scholars of Christianity and judaism who can give better understanding of their religion… I want to hear from them not our Muslim scholars…. I am teaching Quran for past 5 years and many questions come in my mind about their religion….
