Some people say doing this act is akin to saying ‘have fun doing shirk with Allah’ and therefore it is haraam to wish eg happy Diwali. I have seen Ghamidi sahabs video about this topic. Is the interpretation of these people correct?

There is an argument that it is as if saying happy lying happy killing or enjoy your bacon

Because the argument that seems to be made is for the sake of socialism you should do this- but doesn’t it maybe cross over into sending mixed messages about shirk?

Me wishing them happiness on their festival will lead to them strengthening their beliefs in polytheism and perhaps maybe legitimises it for them from even our view. Principles should not be sacrificed for courtesy

Is there any example of Prophet or Sahabas wishing the Christians on Christmas ?

I may be wrong but I don’t think they celebrated Christmas in the modern sense

Anyway there weren’t many Christians in medina

There might be some Muslims who may have had Christians and Jews as their wives (before Prophet ordered to throw out Jews/Christians from their homes in Arabia) and they must be observing the Christmas day or any Jewish festival.

I believe Christmas is from a pagan festival started much later

Christmas in some form was celebrated in the 4th century as well..

Also, is there any example where wishing other people on their religious festivals is explicitly made haraam by Allah ?

So it is correct- Hindu festivals like Diwali involve shirk so we shouldn’t congratulate them

Is it haraam to wish them ? If it is, how can donating for temples be not haraam ?

My view is both are not permitted

Are you saying donating for temples is haraam ? Which verse you used to derive this ruling from Allah ?

It is like saying if you open up a brothel it is not haraam to earn money from it. Fitrah and common sense tells us it’s wrong.

Donating for temple is same or worse in sinful act as opening the brothel ?

I was going to answer. But then I remembered I’m not God
