    When the Quran talks about marrying more than one it says ‘then marry two to three…’

    As a normal reader of English this seems like a directive to marry more than one if justice can be established rather than a permission

      No.2 that’s my point the Quran didn’t use the word ‘can’. Is this a stylistic s thing of the Arabic language. Like in directive for jummah that then go and do business after the prayer?

    It is not a directive it is an option. Remember this came at the time when after the wars there were widows and orphans who needed a home. This was time specific
