    Surah Fatiha In Prayer

    AOA If someone recites surah fatiha in the 1st two rakah of Fard salah and after surah fatiha again recites surah fatiha instead of another surah and has argument that surah fatiha is also part of the quran. Is he doing it correctly or otherwise. Please advise with references. May Allah swt bless you all in both worlds

    The correct way is to recite any part of the Quran, no matter how small, after reciting surah Fatiha.

    Surah Faitha is more like a preface to the Quran – a prayer for guidance. We recite a part of the Quran – response to the prayer – after reciting surah Fatiha.

    So what I understand your answer is Surah Fatiha should not be recited after Surah Fatiha that we normally recite. Is that right?

    Yes, the proper way to make salat that we have received from prophet Muhammad SAW is to recite Al-Fatiha, and then any other part of the Quran.
