In Pakistan we have a printed Nikah form where there is a column where you can stipulate your conditions like in case you ask for a divorce you write a period of 4 months or more, and the husband has to give you a divorce in this period. Or you want to have a career after marriage, or you don’t want to live with your in laws. This Nikah Nama is registered with the Union Council and recognized by the government as valid

Ghamidi Sahib says all conditions should be settled before the marriage between the couple and can be written in the Nikah Nama.

Two parties can always enter into any form of contract with whatever conditions they agree to; as long as the conditions are ethical and are not in violation of clear Islamic directives. Once they’re entered into, they are binding on both the parties and each of them will be held accountable for any violation of agreed upon contract because contracts hold a religious sanctity. This is an enough Islamic proof.

If someone claims that one cannot put contractual conditions in a contract of Nikah specifically, the burden of proof is on them to prove such prohibition from Islamic sources.
