  • Preserving The 'dhikr'

Allah said he would preserve the ‘dhikr’. Not the verbatim Quran. So isn’t it an assumption to say that the exact words were preserved. Dhikr would imply that the general meaning was conveyed.

Quran has been called Al-Kitaab, Al-Hikmah, Al-Furqan, Al-Huda and Adh-Dikhr. The sentence structure and context makes it clear that in what meaning these words are used and what exactly are they referring to. If you look at the flow of verses (15:6-9), it becomes evident that Dikhr here can only means this Quran. Linguistically, there are no two possibilities.

But there is a subtle difference no? God could of used ‘Quran’ but he didn’t he used dhikr there synonymous but not the same? Al kitab is not the recited revelation the remembrance which is very broad is what God chose to mention the flow of verses don’t mention word for word or recitation. The Qur’an contains the remembrance.

The context tells that this al-Dhikr was revealed.

In the same flow Quran calls it Quran Mubeen and Al-Kitab before Al-Dhikr leaving no room for any other consideration.

This is the Quranic style using the word Al-Dhikr refering to the whole divine book
