Is there any inherent symbolism in the way Muslims hold their hands up/cup them while making dua? Why do we brush our hands over our faces after we are done? 🤲

symbols may or may not have to logical relevance with their meaning. for example to show yes, we nod our heads up and down and to say no, we move it left and right. To uphold hands does have relevance with it meaning: for begging people do the same with one hand or both. whereas to brush face is the nothing but to end the dua. that is why, there is not one way to end it. some people just turn their hands down to end dua.

    God knows the best
