Doubt On Scholars With New Approaches
I happened to read “Civil Democratic Islam” by Rand Corporation. That report can be summarized as US should support liberal Imams (My words) to produce counter narrative against traditional narrative.
The application of this summary, we can see in different organizations such as Yaqeen Institute of Omar Suleman which posted an article supporting gay marriage right. We also see Gay Imams are being promoted etc.According to Sahih Muslim; Book #020, Hadith #4688, there will be scholars sent to hell, we also know that from hadith, narrated by al-Tirmidhi (4:2167), ibn Majah (2:1303) majority of scholar will not agree on error.
My question is how can one differentiate between such scholars who hide real knowledge and propagate wrong. The confusion arises because sometimes both of them argue even from the same ayah.
For example, Homosexuality, Polygamy, Hijab etc…
