Zakat On Savings For Saheb E Nisaab But Jobless
Assalamoalaikum, I own some gold on which Zakat is due, I used to pay when I was earning but I am a housewife now. I am jobless and feel hesitation in asking my husband to pay my Zakat since it’s my responsibility.
I feel its unethical taking out money from household expenditure without asking my husband.
What can I do?
Shall I sell the gold and pay it?
I am not a tax payer but my husband is a taxpayer, however, he soon will be retired.

Any assets that are of personal use are automatically exempt from zakat. If the nature of your assets is different then zakat is due whether you have a job or not.
