Hello,
In one of his addresses, I have heard Ghamidi sb. saying that, if a women willingly takes the financial responsibility of the home ( & the husband, of course), he may choose to be the home maintainer…
My question is that…if in Quran…Allah HAS put forth this classical system of role classification, then what right do we have to exercise its reciprocal?
If, by some means, we have… please tell that Will the following roles will also be reversed?
1. Will the wife give Mehr to husband?
2. Will she have the right to lead the family fully in terms of the divorce decision also? Etc….

Quran has described general nature of man and a woman and how man is more suitable to lead a family, this doesn’t cover the exceptional cases. Experience also tells us that most of the times this works smoothly and right in accordance with the above nature, however, in exceptional circumstances if a need arises, a woman can lead a family. These kind of exceptions are always present within the kalaam itself at the time of its birth.
Secondly, Meher is a right of woman in her capacity as a wife. Just the way a wife can give-up her right to meher in favour of her husband, similarly, a husband can give-up his rights in favour of his wife. The same is the case with divorce. But no such condition should be against the whole spirit (reality/haqeeqat) of Nikah.
