Father Looking After Disabled Daughter
Assalam Alekum,
We have an adorable six year old old daughter with special needs. She has extremely limited mobility and needs a lot of assistance with all aspects of her care, including nappy changing, shower and feeding.
My wife has been amazing in looking after her and i have assisted her as best as I could. As our daughter grows old, i wanted to ask, if I as father I can continue to help with nappy changing or showering her as there may well be instances in the future where my wife is not around.
Is there any age limit in Islam for Father’s involvement in this type of work and how does this apply in the case of child with severe physical disability.

Summary (English): There is no abomination in it. The instructions given in the religion are aimed at instilling in the children feelings of chastity and modesty. But such rulings are related to ordinary circumstances or ordinary life. They do not apply to anyone with a disability. So you can look after these matters. There is no prohibition on this in religion and sharia.
