The only thing to be mindful of is that the company that you trade should not be involved in any immoral or unethical business. If you know a mutual fund that doesn’t invest in such businesses then there’s nothing questionable about investing in mutual funds.
Gold ETF is an instrument that tracks the market price of gold, so I don’t see anything immoral or unethical in trading that either.
