Wudhu With Makeup
Aoa
I work at an office. I wear makeup every morning for work.
The makeup doesnt allow the water to reach the skin. It is not possible for me to remove makeup and do Wudhu and then wear it again. I am not able to keep my wudhu from morning till zuhar. What can I do in this case? Is there no way I can wear the makeup with wudhu?

My daughter and her friends do their makeups after wudhu. (Their Sunday school teacher’s advice) And then Tayummum. Ustadh Ghamdi Sahib opinion for nail polish is same. It is more important to pray on time I think.

Since its an ijtihaadi matter, you can follow Ghamidi Sahab’s ijtihad that he did for nail polish for the time being (if it sounds logical to you). In the meantime, we will get our Scholar Hassan Sahab’s insight to this makeup issue as well:

Aren’t the answers given by Ghamidi Sahab and Dr. Shehzad Saleem different to the one given by Hasan Ilyas Sahab here? Because if we’re to go by the logic that only what is apparent needs to be washed, then what is the need to perform wudu first and then apply nail polish, thereby treating the matter analogous to masah over socks? Wouldn’t every single wudu following a woman applying nail polish cover washing what is “apparent” anyway?

It is an ijtihadi matter as said by Ghamidi Sahab as well. If someone opts the other option on nail polish, that is understandable too. Since nail polish creates this external visible coating over the nails, therefore to cover this factor, Masah application has been considered more appropriate by Ghamidi Sahab.

hame ek doubt hai ke makeup ke upper wadu kis tarha karenge agar karty hai to kya makeup khatam nahi hojayega,jis tarha ghamidi sahab ne kaha nail polish lagane se pehle wadu karle or phir uske upper wadu karty jaye theek hai to kya face par bhi nailpolish ki tarha plastic type layer hojate hai jise water se koi farq nahi parta,to hasan bhai ki baat samajh ati hai ,water ke use se vo cheez khatam hojati hai tabhi to log tayammum karty hai.

Ji main ney apni baiti kia bataya tha woh make sey pehley wudhu kar laiti hey our phir agar wudhu na rahey to sometime tayummum kar laiti hey ya wudhu makeup key ooper . But I think key Taqwa is best. To do the wudhu perfectly is better . Yahan main Hassan Illayas Sahab sey bhi ikhtalaaf karon gi wudhu ka aik maqsad batni pakeezgi bhi hey. It keeps us pure and clean, both physically and spiritually.

Yeh Kenna shayed ziyada munasib hey key batitni pakeezgi key liyey Allah key hazoor janey (salat) ki aik shurt batni pakeezgi hey. Jis ka aik juzw wudhu hey.
