Moderator January 1, 2021 at 12:53 amFollowing summarized videos will help you grasp the concept of Attributes of Allah and why Allah cannot possess evil attributes like lying etc. and why Allah can’t be the creator of Evil (‘Shar’).
But to fully grasp the concept of Belief in God including His Being, His Attributes and His Sunan, it is highly recommended to please take some time and go through all the lectures available in the following thread, where all the main categories and sub-categories have been properly linked with both text and videos of Book Meezan.

Member January 2, 2022 at 2:36 pmSo is it right to say that according to Ghamidi sahab that we don’t observe God(we get knowledge by observing),so only knowledge about the God is by what He Himself reveals,so first can get the verses from which he is deducting this result that God is the Creator of only good not bad?
And second can you explain the thing because the above answer couldn’t satisfy me wholly that, for something (creation) to be ,need to be created,so how He made only Good and not evil(it was the result of free will He gave to us)?
And thirdly is it right to say that He(God) has total free will(akhtayar e mutlaq)(we have limited free will),so He can lie or go against His promise but He don’t do so because He has said it as He has said that His mercy would be always more than His anger, same as Ghamidi sahab says(without any resemblance just for clarifying the matter)that angels have free will but they don’t go against the order of God(they have but they don’t go against)(means they can go against but they don’t go)His anger can also be more but He chose the other way and now He has said it(focus on the words can or can’t and do or don’t).

Moderator January 2, 2022 at 11:24 pmAccording to Quran, we have knoweldge of God ingrained in our nature, but we have no way of knowing His Being (khuda ki zaat), His Attributes and His Dealings and Practices with Humans without direct revelation from Him. Only Good can be associated to Him and this can be inferred from the following verses:
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
All that lives on earth is mortal and only the person of Your majestic and glorious God will abide forever. (55:26-27)
And for God are only good names; call on Him by these names and keep away from those who distort them. And whatever they are doing, they shall soon receive its reward. (7:180)
قُلِ ادْعُواْ اللّهَ أَوِ ادْعُواْ الرَّحْمَـنَ أَيًّا مَّا تَدْعُواْ فَلَهُ الأَسْمَاء الْحُسْنَى
Tell them: “You may call [Him as] Allah or Rahman; by whatever name you call Him, His are the most gracious names.” (17:110)
God gave us the consciousness to separate good from evil and knowledge of what is good and what is evil. With that, we’ve been given freewill to either choose good or to use our freewill in a way that results in Evil.
And the soul bears witness and the perfection given to it, then [God] inspired it with its evil and its good that he succeeded who purified it and he failed who corrupted it. (91:7-10)
The attributes of God as mentioned in Quran (i.e. knowledge, power, providence, justice, wisdom and mercy) don’t contradict eachother, infact they co-exist under umbrella of Justice. It is against the value of justice, for a God to be compassionate toward a rapist, murderer or someone who became arrogant and denied the message of God out of arrogance, and forgives them when there’s no basis available for forgiveness.

Member January 3, 2022 at 3:11 amOk,so it means He(God)have attributes to do anything maybe go against promise but He don’t do.Correct?
But second question still remains there that for something to be to exist it needs to be created. If there would exist good then it would happen. So how has He only created good but not evil?

Moderator January 3, 2022 at 9:15 pmUsing term that God only created good and didn’t create the evil doesn’t express the right sentiment.
The correct sentence should be that from God only good emanates because God is all goodness.
God gave us a consciousness and knowledge of Good and Evil along with freewill of choosing either of the paths. But can God commit any evil himself? the answer to that one is no, because only good emanates from God and He is nothing but goodness.

Member January 10, 2022 at 2:11 pmEvil is our innate conception or applied meaning of human actions that go against the will of God. If one nukes the earth to erase the existence of humanity, that action can be labeled as extremely evil. However, if God ends the existence of mankind in this world, we can always find a wise and all-good reason why God would do it.
Evil can’t be applied to God just as we can’t apply the attributes to Him that are not worthy of His Glory.

Member January 4, 2022 at 6:06 amBut that can be said in that way also that God created good and evil and gave us o conciseness of both and put us in test? Like creating evil for test doesn’t mean to commit it? Ghamidi sahab said that if we say God created evil then it will go further to that God commits evil or something(based on his knowledge of western philosophy)?
Secondly,How can creating evil means that He commits evil Himself?
(I know it’s a dangerous question,if you think it’s better to skip then we should or wait for Ghamidi sahab to answer)

Moderator January 4, 2022 at 11:32 pmThe first thing is man’s awareness of good and evil. It is because of this awareness that his chiding conscience rebukes him on every evil. The second thing is the nature of man by virtue of which he likes justice and dislikes injustice. Therefore, a man’s nature demands a God who is all goodness and doesn’t commit any evil. Lastly, this demand of nature gets its answer when we are told by the God himself that God is all goodness and has all the good attributes only. This also implies that such a God cannot be a creator of evil as well; evil infact arsies out of misuse of our freewill.

Member January 5, 2022 at 8:23 amThe question still remains there, that first for something to exist should be created and second how creating evil can mean committing evil, like He may has created evil for test?

Moderator January 5, 2022 at 9:40 amThe premise, “for something to exist it must be created” is not correct. For example, darkness comes from the absence of light – it’s not something that was specifically created. Similarly evil is just the absence of good – it’s not created.
As Umer sahab stated above, God created good and then gave us the capability to distinguish between good and evil (absence of good) along with the free will to choose either.

Member January 5, 2022 at 4:31 pmThanks for answering.
Like example that you used for the there should be darkness present then light came.So darkness also exists and presence of light only lightens it,and when that light has gone, again darkness. Similarly take good and evil as bulb(on or off), we choose between on or off, and these two we created before to choose between, Similarly good and evil and free will to choose between them

Moderator January 5, 2022 at 5:05 pmDarkness and light was just an example to get the point across. The switch example is invalid in the case of good and evil. As explained above, evil is is the absence of good, and it comes about by inappropriate use of free will.

Member January 7, 2022 at 2:56 pmIn Iman e mufassal we get “wal qadri khairi wa sharriri min Allahi Ta’alaa”that good and evil fate is from God some have translated that”(I believe) in Taqdir, that all good and bad is from Allah”,what about that.
