i find this hadith strange as Hyena falls under category of beast.
May be if we can establish chronological order of ahadith and ayahs on this topic, we might be able to conclude something. Because there is hadith forbidding meat of beasts.

This hadith seems extremely weak. This is why hadith should never be a hujjat when it comes to islamic sharia.

On what basis is weak. Mohadeseen has classed it sahih. If you claim such things you should bring some extra ordinary evidence against established record.
This topic is not about hadith being hujjat or not so i will refrain from further discussion

I was referring to hadith mentioned by Ahmed Shoaib. Sorry for misunderstanding.

The Hadith I sent is classed as sahih

Yeah but according to Ghamidi sahab if the hadith is against the Quran and fundamentals of logic and reason it won’t be accepted even if it’s considered sahih by hadith scholars

I’m not qualified enough to talk about status of every individual hadith. I just mentioned a general rule of Ghamidi sahab’s. Maybe a more qualified person can answer about the hadith about goh.

I asked sajid Sahab and he said it was most likely that the word for go ضب was most likely confused with ضبع

      And what’s that mean?

The lizard was halal since people ate it and was confused with hyena
