Forbidden Prayer Timings Associated With Polytheism
Performing prayer while sun is rising and setting, is not allowed during prophet’s sws time, because at that time many worship sun at that duration, but could this be ruled out now, as, if we have taqwa that we r only worshipping the god and not any of its creation like sun, why can’t we worship while sun is rising and setting.

Matters of Ibadah which are transmitted through ijma and tawatur as an initiated Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (sws) cannot be subjected to ijtihaad and be left based on absence of any underlying ‘illat’ (conditions) which led to such directives. Because of Islam’s extreme sensitivity to polytheism, these were the only two times forbidden for Sajda as a Sunnah and transmitted through ijma and tawatur.

I asked this to Hameed sahab and he said that this time could be prayed in nowadays since there’s no chance of someone mistaking it for shirk. But just because the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did it for his qawm, us doing it would be a good thing as an affiliation with the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم .
