  • What Is The Proof That The Quran Is Supernatural / Divine?

Posted by Ahmad Shoaib on January 19, 2021 at 9:26 pm

Most of us don’t speak Arabic. Those who do almost definitely haven’t studied it for the 40 years required to know the arabi e muala of the Quraysh. How can we then claim the Quran is a linguistic miracle? Why is the miracle so difficult that one must study for so long? When it comes to the point of the Quran not being able to be replicated- how do we see evidence that it can’t be and hasn’t been since we can’t speak Arabic?

The circumstances of revelation of a man living in a society for 40 years who was unlettered would be a great proof- but we cannot see that the Quran is amazing so how would we see that what he HAS produced was actually so amazing that him being unlettered and producing it was so amazing.

What about the philosophy or subject matter. Sure the philosophy has not evolved but what are some philosophies mentioned in it that could never have been from humans?

What about prophecies? How do we know the verses of prophecies predate the even that the allegedly prophecise?

The Quran is compiled and transmitted in the full light of history in front of its adversaries. You find no one objecting that certain prophecies were later added to it. Historical records were never prepared by governments rather by individuals. We have so many fabricated Ahadith and some clumsy efforts to replicate some chapter of Quran but there is no one pointing fingers to the content of Quran being fabricated.

To know Quran is a miracle one needs to know its contents. It has no evolution of human thoughts which is completely unlikely if it was conceived by a man for a long period of time.

The speaker of Quran has no human emotions and biases. He is utterly consistent in his principles. The premises are based on nature and are so strong that time never affects them.

The knowledge of previous books is accurate, rather it corrects them and all that is impossible to come from an unlettered man.

All this came from man who had no background of poetry, oratory or interest in knowledge. It burst forth from him all of a sudden in such a manner that it stunned its audience who were proud of their skills in their language.

Yea but we can’t make sure that the prophecies predate the events the prophecies. It doesn’t have to be a later invention. It could have simply been revealed once the lands were conquered.

How do we know whether he corrected the previous books or actually made a mistake in telling us history?

As for the replication argument- no on has yet copied Shakespeare. I know that he didn’t claim to be a prophet of God but how does a lack of being able to be replicated prove anything?

      1) how does that prove anything?

      2) how does that prove anything?

      3)how does that prove anything?

      4) how does that prove anything?

      5)how does that prove anything?

      6) predictions that have not come to fruition

Most of them come under the category of not actually explaining things. The science aspect can’t be used as a proof because it wasn’t originally there when the Quran was being revealed- and most of them are extremely far fetched.

Sorry, I disagree. Which ones are far fetched and which ones were already known. Let’s talk one by one and let’s reject them.

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 5:24 am

The points which I said prove nothing are because they are just statements. What about them proves anything?

Take the calculation of the speed of light. I have read all of those surahs before and not once did it come to my mind that it’s trying to calculate the speed of light.

And neither did the Arabs of the time. So if they thought it was divine without science there must be some way we can do it without it too

    • Nadeem Minhas

      Member January 20, 2021 at 5:26 am

Quran is for all times. Not just for Arabs. The signs of science will never end but the universe will end before. People have not reached that advanced knowledge yet.

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 5:34 am

So how did they know the Quran was divine? That should be enough for me

  • Nadeem Minhas

    Member January 20, 2021 at 5:23 am

Let’s start with 1st. Was it known at that time? If not, how prophet knew it?

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 5:24 am

My principles argument is that the Arabs did not use this to prove the divinity of the Quran. So why should we?

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 5:34 am

Also, the Quran never claims to be the word of God in this manner- it presents other arguments like try and replicate a surah

    • Nadeem Minhas

      Member January 20, 2021 at 5:49 am

There are so many ways the Quran proves that it has divine origin. Signs of science is one method. I am using that one method to convince you. You did not answer my earlier question. Let stay on the topic and a single item.

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 5:52 am

I’m not sure how Muhammad SAW knew such a thing. Are we sure it wasn’t a common belief of the time?

    • Nadeem Minhas

      Member January 20, 2021 at 6:01 am

People from that time used guess and conjecture to disprove Quran. You are saying the same thing. Do you have a proof that it was known at that time. If not, how did he know. Did he guess? Did aliens tell him? Did he find a book of advanced knowledge from an advanced civilization that once existed? What would be your answer? Let’s say it was a common belief at that time. How did they set this belief. Let’s give this one to you. Let’s move to the 2nd one. How did he know that?

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 6:15 am

I don’t know how he knew this.

  • Nadeem Minhas

    Member January 20, 2021 at 6:36 am

You can pick an answer and prove it. If you can’t then this knowledge came from the creator of the universe as this information was proven just a few decades ago and it was never known before. Let me give you an example. If you find a very advanced object (perhaps an alien craft) and you want to know how it was made, who would be able to tell you how it was made? Same goes for Quran. If it was not known at that time how universe was created, how did prophet know about it. The only way he could have known is if the creator told him.

There is one other possibility that advanced alien people came to him and told him. First, it is just a guess, but we can prove it wrong. First Quran was written over 23 years, so the advanced aliens were visiting him for 23 years? Why did they only pick him? If they told prophet all the correct science and they knew it all, why would they lie about Allah?

  • Nadeem Minhas

    Member January 20, 2021 at 6:44 am

Also, let’s talk about science that is not proven yet and it may take humans another several decades to a century to prove. Quran states there are 7 universes and only the lower has stars and planets. This is not proven yet. Scientists are guessing that there may be 11 universes or unlimited or our universe keeps of expanding and collapsing. There is string theory, etc. This advanced science is for future people to prove Quran in from Allah. There is so much more in Quran than what I listed above.

@faisalharoon @Irfan67 What do you think of this method?

    • Nadeem Minhas

      Member January 20, 2021 at 8:54 am

Means if prophet guessed an answer to those facts, how many guesses were possible. For example, the Earth is egg shaped. The guesses could have been a sphere, oval, square, flat like a disk, hexagon, triangle, etc.

    • Ahmad Shoaib

      Contributor January 20, 2021 at 8:55 am

Ok this is very interesting. I just want to know the argument that convinced the Arabs of that time too

    • Nadeem Minhas

      Member January 20, 2021 at 9:06 am

Sorry, I dont know that. I was a person born as Muslim, left Islam and became an atheist. Hated religions and religious people for two decades. But something kept nagging that there must be a creator and I can’t just die and stop existing. I started my research from other religions, but I found them all lies, guess and made up things. I couldn’t even find an authentic book to trust. Long story short, finally I started studied Quran because I found that it is authentic. I only studied meaning the first time in life when earlier I had finished Quran in arabic numerous times. What convinced my mind was the science and what convinced my heart was the message. What I read in Quran is that Arabs were convinced by message. If you truly searching for god and read Quran by meaning, you will end up crying and your heart will tell you that it is the truth. Now I am devoted to Quran. Check my wotk at…

I have a few objections to your claims. Points 4,5,7,8,10,11,17,22,24,25 and 30 haven’t really been discovered by science yet so they don’t count as scientific miracles.

4- We have not seen this- how is it a scientific miracle?

      5- same as 4

7- the universe has not ended

8- the new Earth has not been created

      10-same as 4

      11-same as 4

      17-same as 4

      22-same as 4

      24-same as 4

      25- same as 4

Then, points 13,19,20,33,34,36 and 37 are made with an incorrect interpretation of the Quran.

13- The Quran nowhere mentions that the moon’s light is reflected

19- that ayah is being completely distorted. It talks about judgement day

20- this is frankly absurd. The Quran gives no such calculation

33- Again, a literalist interpretation where it is not appropriate. Two hearts does not refer to a physical rather it is a metaphor

34- That is not what the ayah says- it does not mention the frontal lobe at all- it mentions the forelock

36- Again this ayah does not reference finger prints at all- it just talks about fingers

37- 15:19 is of a completely different topic. 16:15 is not plate tectonics, neither is 21:31. I have already explained 29:88 in point 19 (it is repeated). 41:10 is not plate tectonics. Neither is 78:7. We do not know how or if mountains prevent earthquakes as the Quran says.

Here is couple of oaragraphs for you before we get back to your question.

    ——+

How many proofs of existence of Allah, the deniers can deny? How much efforts deniers put into denying Allah, but they can only bring speculation, conjecture and false arguments. There are sufficient proofs for the intelligent and sincere ones who are seeking the truth. All the proofs are there except Allah coming down and proving himself…and when this would happen it would be too late and the only thing left will be an eternal regret and torment.

Think! What if it is all true? Even if there is a slightest chance that it could be all true…the risk of eternal loss and regret is too great. Isn’t it worth the mere belief in one Allah against possible eternal misery? Allah doesn’t ask you for your money, minimally, just a belief and to avoid injustice against others. Isn’t a negligible insurance premium of believing in one Allah worth a peace of mind against “what if it is all true”? Is the measly payment of belief in one Allah too much of investment at risk in exchange for potentially an eternal happiness and bliss?

Multiverse bigbang expanding universe! Ultimate fate of universe!! All are 100 percent accurate scoentifically!! It has some predictions as well for roman persian wars! Comquest of mecca! Christians beating jews in history!! For example in surah 16 quran says that honey is made from bellies of bees i googled this and was surprised that honey bees have two bellies one specifically for honey!! There is alot! Miracle for arabs was linguistics of quran! As it challenged to produce a surah like it and tjose aware of arabic know its impossible!!

You mentioned how previous scriptures were corrected.

Here is what the bible says about those who took the calf for worship:

Exodus 32:33 – Revised Standard Version

But the Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Verse 35 says they had a plague sent upon them for what they did.

Quran 2:54 says God forgave them in the end after calling for them to kill each other.

Then there is also the matter of Harun AS and the bible alleging that he built the calf.

How do we know that the Quran corrected the previous scriptures? Surely both are just saying their own stories. I’m sure Christians and Jews disagree with the Quranic sequence of events when it come sot some historical events like this.

Commenting on Bible. We can’t reference Bible that is proven to be inauthentic. There are 60 significantly different bibles, which one is correct. Also Bible is almost all like we have Hadith. It is not a direct word of Allah. There are few direct Quotes from prophet Isa… don’t know even if those are correct either.

    Here’s my take on this:

There is a clear evidence that the book has divine intervention but at the same time it’s hard to say that each and every word and verse in the book is from God – the book was sent down verse by verse over a period of many years and it’s not one monolith book to believe in but one has to pick and choose which verses makes sense and which ones not by pondering on them one by one as God has not signed any page of the book that confirms it’s from Him. However, at times understanding takes much longer than one would hope and therefore one must keep reading and pondering on hard to understand verses hoping one day they might begin to make sense. One should not follow anything until it make sense (i.e helps justice and prevent tyranny in the best way out of all other available options). God has actually warned against attributing lies to Him.

2ndly, the so called challenge of Quran to mankind and Jinn to make a few verses or a chapter like Quran is hard to understand as there is no objective criteria given to arrive at an impartial and unbiased conclusion. In addition, the story of so called “satanic verses” re the cranes went undetected until Gabriel(AS) alerted Prophet Mohammed (SW) to remove them from Quran and replace them with the correct ones. If this story (from the “authentic” books of hadiths) is true, it’s already failed the challenge of Quran that no one can create verses similar to Quran.

3rdly, the process of collection of verses of Quran and compiling it into a book is not fool proof, it’s hard to rule out a possibility of error / corruption here and there.

    1. Arabs accepted Quran as divine because it subjugated their most prized possession, Language. We can never fully comprehend that because Arabs had access to “recited” Quran and we r limited to “printed” Quran. Arabs understood the spoken word without Harakat and different signs of emphasis.

Recall when u felt embarrassed when someone yelled at u and imagine if that yelling was printed for someone else to read, it’ll never have the same effect at all

    2. Scientific miracles meant nothing to Arabs cuz they didn’t know science! They were close to nature and that’s what Quran referred to

    3. Since it’s a book for ages, it contain subtle signs for latter people and it nothing but natural that Allah put some relatable details for future generations since the miracle of language can not be preserved forever

    4. Science and Quran do not go hand in hand. Quran is way ahead and science has to play catch-up and it’s also natural cuz human knowledge grows slowly and time bound. Science doesn’t prove Quran or vice versa. It’s only a supplement human understanding

    5. Quran is collected by oral tradition and not written so it’s completely fool proof

    6. Allah asked to make a surah and call your own scholars to confirm if it’s like Quran. Challenge remains open!
