Are we being put through the test to prove good over evil to prove Iblis wrong and to convince angels that Allah’s new creation is superior and overall at the end good will always prevail over evil?

That’s not at all the case. Iblees already knew that he wouldn’t be able to lead those astray who are truly the servants of God (Quran verse 38:83).

If your read the account in Sura al-Baqarah, you come to know that the test and attribute of man to be able to cause disorder and shed blood was mentioned before Iblees jumped in to incur God’s wrath. (2.30)

Good prevails over evil is the law of nature working in the universe even before man was created.
The big bang and continuous expansion of the universe and evolutions of life from a single cell into various advanced forms of living things on the face of all the natural calamities provides a solid foundation to believe that the universe is built on good over evil principle.
This is why the hypothesis man was created to prove Ibis was wrong cannot be substantiated or justified.

Brother Wadood. I did not get your argument how good vs evil was established before humans.
Also, the theory is that it is not the that humans were created to prove good over evil, but it is the part of sending humans to earth for a test that might have been to prove good over evil. Because angels doubted Allah’s creation of humans.

Conversation between Allah and Angels show that humans were created because God wanted purified humans for heaven… And Angels and jinns were tested by humans like we are being tested by other humans .. so from that point we become enemies of iblees

Yes we may say that creation of man supports the already established law of good over bad.
Man was created to play a role in creation that is evident from the study of the history of mankind.
No specie we know of other than man has innovated or designed anything. There are animals that use tools that they can make and replicate but could not improve them even a bit over millions of years — thats because Allah has assigned His designer trait only to man (or perhaps jinns) which necessitated empowering them with free will. The free will then had risks of misuse that angels highlighted. The “carrot and stick” mechanism was implemented to control those risks. The controls are working fine and we can see good has defeated bad so far and population, quality of life and number of inventions are improving day by day. Allah’s plan is working.
