Al-Fatiha In Own Language In Namaz

The purpose of salah is completely lost if we have no idea what we are saying. Why should the ‘unity’ of Muslims be placed higher than losing all relation and contemplation in salah? Of course each country will pray in their own tongue but at least they will understand.

It’s very easy to learn the meaning of Al-Fatiha. Anyone can teach it to their 8-year old within 10 minutes. Even if someone recites the same thing in their own language several times a day, it can just become a habit. What’s important is to consciously recite the words.
Also it’s not the unity of Muslims but the uniformity in their worship rituals which is the focus of such injunctions, and it is indeed very important in it’s own right.
