Euthanasia For Animals
It is now common in many developed and developing countries that when an animal is very ill and there is no treatment available, they are euthanised, or “put down”, to use the current parlance.
Recently, a friend’s dog who was very old and ill, was had put down by the friend, but thereafter she questioned whether it was the right thing to do, causing much emotional and spiritual anguish.
Please share what you feel would be the ethical perspective in this situation, and whether this now globally accepted practice is truly valid or not.
