    I’m not sure what’s the point of this question. Prophet Muhammad SAW was the messenger of God who taught us the Quran and the sunnah – the very sources of Islam. If he opined about a matter, it should not only be acceptable but in fact hold a very high status. Self evident things don’t require any evidence.

      His actions in surah tahrim were reprimanded by God that’s why I’m asking. It seems he had a lapse in judgement at the minimum level. Furthermore he says he only follows God and what was revealed which is the Quran. If he said something and it was religion then it would’ve been in the Quran or already part of the sunnah.

    That was his personal ijtihad and since it required correction so that people don’t follow it, God corrected it already.

      So why couldn’t there be another ijtihaad that he personally makes that wouldn’t be under scrutiny?
