In the final question of this session Ghamidi Sahab comments on monarchy.
He says God reprimanded the Jews for asking for a monarch. But the thing is one was given to them anyway. Why would God give the Jews something that he regards as stupidity? And furthermore why would he appoint his own messenger suleiman عليه السلام and dawud عليه السلام as monarchs if he doesn’t like the system?
If monarchy was so bad (which it makes logical sense for it to be), then it should be a massive crime. People have slaves and so much money and luxurious lives. So how could dhulqarnayn be praised as a good man if he was at the same time a king?
It’s the same case with the king at the time of yusuf عليه السلام.

Monarchy is undesirable, but a monarch can be a good person. God gave them what they wanted as he gave them the variety of different eatable on demand. in this way they added up to their test and hardened it. so if someone choose to go for harder way, God lets him do.
