Some Types Of Clothes
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saw me wearing two clothes dyed in saffron. whereupon he said: These are the clothes (usually worn by) the non-believers, so do not wear them.
Sahih Muslim 2077

While studying any Hadith, one must keep in mind that narrations that we see are an application of already laid out principles in Quran and Sunnah. The context of the Hadith doesn’t always make it clear as to what was the focal point in prohibiting a certain thing. e.g. this could’ve to do either with Saffron dyed clothes being a symbol of pride and arrogance at that time (just the way wearing of silk for men was prohibited under the same principle) or it could’ve to do with adopting similarities with “kuffar” on whom itmam-e-hujjah was done by the Prophet himself.
Therefore, as a principle, when determining Haram or Halal, we need to see application of Quran’s Surah Araf verse 33. All the Ahadith that we find prohibiting anything actually fall into this category when looked at more deeply.
