Suggestion For Providing References To Answer A Question
There are numerous references to almost every question out there.
I believe when a moderator or others provide a reference, they should summarize the reference information before providing a link. Just providing reference link is not sufficient. It drove me away from participating in the conversations. Many times it takes lot of time to go through references before finding out that the information was not relevant to the question.
Most people these days are looking for quick and brief answers. I believe along with the quick answers, a brief summary of a referenced link should be provided. The summary will help the person decide whether to follow the link for a detailed answer.
