    Kindly always give reference to the verse which you refer to.
    If you are talking about verse 8:31, it was not revealed in the background of behaeading. Actually, Quran is refering to the Challenge of meccans (including Nadir ibn-al-hathir) if Quran is from Allah why there is no azab and these are stories of previous people.

      Could you please elaborate? N yes I am referring to 8: 31. What was the background of this verse. N does this verse has a link to punishment for blasphemy??

      According to tafseer of Qurtubi and Kathir of relevent verse, they write that this ayah refer to Nadir ibn-al-hathir who came from persia and learned their stories. When Prophet Mohammad saw recite Quran, he will say that he can give similar stories.

      This person was killed in aftermath of Badar. Badar has been termed as differentiating day between right and wrong. Hence, we can safely say, it was no blasphemy but the law of itmam e hujjah. You can read more detail of Itmam hujjah in following discussion
