What kind of shifa is meant in Sura Isra, ayat 82 (17:82). It is popular in our culture to recite certain ayaat of Quran hoping for shifa/healing in physical ailments. Similarly to ward off evil eye etc. Please clarify.

So if I understand correctly, shifa is the peace of mind and heart one gets from understanding the meaning and getting ones questions and doubts conclusively answered by Quran.

Reciting Quran has importance also, because we recite Allah’s own words. Whether that has a calming/healing affect can be researched further, like any other knowledge, but it is not the basic concept of shifa as mentioned in Quran.
