Recently in Pakistan a religious political party has called protest to close all ties with France because they are involved in blasphemy and they killed police men and burnt public property, created chaos in the country and now police has taken action and killed 2 of them. Kindly guide that does the action of the religious political party comes under Fasad fil Arz and can state take strict actions against them to stop them?

Quran has prescribed punishment for “Fasad fil ard” in Surah Maida but it is an ijtihadi matter to decide what qualifies as “Fisad fil ard”. The majlis-e-shura or parliament will decide if their actions come under the category of “Fasad fil ard” or not. Personally, i believe that although their demand can be justified but their actions are Fasad fil ard.

An important point to note is that islamic punishments (Hadood) will only be implemented once awareness and education is prevalent in a society and basic needs are fulfilled by the state. Till that level is achieved, government should only implement tazi’raat.

Agreed. Their actions are clearly Fasad fil Arz and these people should be stopped otherwise it becomes a precedent that all will follow in future.
