Sleeping On One's Stomach
Is it really haram to sleep on ones stomach as explained by Engineer Mohammed Ali (video link below) along with some other restrictions mentioned in this video. I understand that scientifically its proven to be harmful for the back and neck too. He has provided some ahadeeth in this regard, but as explained by Ghamidi saab hadeeth can’t be the singular source of haram/halal.
Whats Ghamidi Saab’s take on this ?

Again, the question did not include the specific hadeeth and its words, for the health tips given by the prophet pbuh there is no warning of punishment if someone doesn’t follow it. But sleeping on ones stomach is mentioned to be an act of “na farmani” of Allah !

Hadith words are not words of Prophet (sws) verbatim. They are words of prophet (sws) as understood by the narrator. Just because something is in Hadith, doesn’t necessarily make it a religious injunction. This hadith also falls within elderly advice by the Prophet (sws) in his capacity as an elder of the society and not in His capacity as a Prophet. Therefore, Ahadith always need to be understood within framework of whole Quran and Sunnah which are transferred in their purest form.
