If we give zakat to some charity organization…do we need to verify that is it Genuine organization or not? Sometimes it becomes very difficult to know it is genuine or not

We should get reasonable assurance to make sure of this fact, whether the organization is a genuine charity institution or not.

Following video sheds light on principles surrounding this matter

Please refer to the video below from 58:57 to 1:00:20 and from 1:10:29 to 1:11:42

I have given charity to organization arranging oxygen for covid 19 patients in India from online payment…For verification I am checking their instagram page…but it is difficult to know the ground reality…is it necessary to know the ground reality or is it sufficient

You’re only liable to verify within possible means. However, it doesn’t mean that you can give zakat to anyone who posts pictures on Instagram. Would you give your money to anyone selling a product on Instagram? Whatever due diligence you would do in that, you should do the same for zakat.
