We only know about the divine destruction of those nations that the Quresh of Makkah were already aware of. Stories of those nations are presented in the Quran as a historical evidence to the Quresh for Prophet Muhammad’s claim of prophethood. As for other previous nations, we can’t be certain about the reasons of their extinction.
