I don’t think so, however, we have been given very clear injunction to stay away from zina and anything that can lead to it.

So it seems a bit wierd that Fitrah can judge foods but not something that the Quran clearly calls fahisha

I think sexual desire is in the fitrah and so is having a proper family system. A child requires a family for proper growth. It’s a matter of prioritising. Moreover we cannot fulfil all the desires of the fitrah in this world. Generally sexual relations outside of marriage are considered wrong or fawahisha by everyone. Islam prohibits such relations before marriage as a principle of Sade zariyah.

They’re clearly not seen wrong by the entire west where I live where everyone engages in them. Also in the east I have heard stories of where it is common place to do such things

Sex outside of marriage(cheating on your partner) is considered wrong everywhere.

Oh right sure. Though the trajectory nowadays seems to be that with consent all is becoming allowed

There is a difference between what is wrong and what needs to be held responsible by the state. Sex without consent is punishable in western societies. It doesn’t mean with content it is accepted or not considered wrong.

Quran guides us in those things where we as humans are prone to making mistakes. In other words, Quran compliments the initial guidance provided to us in the form of human nature. The point is that we have been provided all the guidance that we need in order to successfully complete our test of life, whether that guidance comes from our fitrah or through prophets of God.

Yes Zina is most definitely against Fitrah. Any act that creates disgust in human nature and consciousness is against “Fitrah”.

IN the West the couples live together as partners(Boyfriends-Girlfriends). Civil Partnership is considered as acceptable norm, is Legal and is an alternative to Religious Marriage. They do NOT call it as Adulatory or Fornication. Although Islam does consider it as Zina. So there is difference of opinion on Marriage.

Its similar to Divinity of Jesus and Trinity. Whereas Quran considers it as Shirk & Kufr, The Christians Argue they believe in Unity of God.

Then what DO they consider fornication? If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..

Sex with a non-partner(Stranger/Friend) for one night stand is considered as Zina. Partnerships is gaining strength in the West due to high cost of a divorce in case of Civil Marriage under the Law(50% of Man’s Property Goes to the Woman in case the divorce is initiated by Man), Otherwise Traditional Marriage still has its value in the West.

How does that mean zina is agaisnt their fitrah? They seem perfectly done doing it

If Fitrah means human natural instinct, I agree with Zhoaib’s question. If there was no guidance from any religion, human nature will not tell a person to get married or if engaging with multiple partners is wrong.

So, perhaps then it is not correct to say that Islam is based on Fitrah.

Although once someone finds out that Allah has prohibited such acts, then the person will be obligated to follow.

Because sex with a stranger is considered as disgusting behavior in the west similar to sexual perversions. The people involved in it are called as “perverts” & women as “Sluts”. Which is a proof that even secular west has ethical standards.

and if laws were relaxed concerning divorce, people would again revert to marriage in large numbers rather than partnerships.
