Shahadat means to stay witness or to bear witness. it means that a man stands to give the witness of the truth one receives from God and in this quest, if required he lays his life. Those who got killed accidently or are assassinated may or may not be counted as martyr depending upon their way of life and what they are killed for. If they received death for being on the right path, they may be a martyr in the eyes of God.
those who are killed for no valid reason, they will get their reward for the pain they went through.
