  • Reality Of Jinns According To The Quran

What is the reality of jinn according to the Quran? The stories of jinn was deeply rooted in the pre Islamic arabic desert cultures and folklores can contribute to believe its mythical and fictitious reality. Does the old and new testament tells something about jinn or is this just a part of unique feature of the Quran?

All we know from the Quran is that jinn r made of fire, Iblees is among the jinn

Jinns have faiths just like humans, they work with some humans to give them news of the future. How do they interpret or understand angels, we don’t know.

    Everything else is mere conjecture

Quran describes Jinns being there long before prophet Muhammad or even before prophet Ibrahim. Jinns existed before human beings. In Quran Jinns are described before Allah created human. In this World and in Quran the Jinns are described in the story of Prophet Sulman and before that.

In jewish books, there is no mention of jinn. There are two types of angels mentioned. For first type the essesce is light, for the other essence is smokeless fire.

How come they are not in the books of the bible considering the fact that the bible is consist of many books sent to different prophets from different timeline in large period? The mention of jinn should be in the bible in some form given that jinn is a important creation of God.The Quran has entire chapter named after it! One may argue Quran has human origin because it takes the concept of jinn from desert folklores as the the whole old and new testament doesn’t have a single mention of jinn. What could be my response to it?

Brother Tamzid, It is excellent that you are exploring these questions. There are lot of things not mention in Bible. Judging if something is included in Bible or other books is no way a measure of divine or human origins of a book. There are much better ways to judge that.

It is the job of the devil, his companions and its human supporters to weaken the belief of Muslims by putting such baseless thoughts in the believers mind.

Please use a better way to judge authenticity and divinity of a book. A person must do that to strengthen his belief. A belief based on knowledge is much stronger.

In bible there are only 3-4 books which can claim divine inspiration. Rest are not.
As I said in “Tanakh” u can find similar concept. As I said angel with essence of smokeless fire is similar to jin concept. In bible, you find concept of demons or fallen angels. Eg Satan is a fallen angel. However, Quran describe it as Jinn.
I think difference occur due to the fact that bible is not in its original language and has been translated according to the understanding of translators.
