Debates And Arguments On Religion To Win
I see many posts in ask Ghamidi forum and most Muslims out there preparing, struggling and conducting debates and lengthy arguments with people from other religions and non religious people and then judging who won the debate or an argument. We have developed this behavior as part of our culture. This even happens within Muslims from same or different sects. Even within members of the same family until it ends up in fist fights, personal attacks and severence of relationships.
Please tell me if I am wrong. Shouldn’t we tell people to avoid arguments, debates and struggles to convince others who are not sincerely seeking answers. Shouldn’t we only provide information to those who seek information and that it is not our duty to convince anyone who just want to debate or argue?
Allah even instructed prophets not to do this. Their job was just to deliver message. Only Allah can provide guidance whoever is deserving to be guided and whoever seeks his guidance.
