مولى means master, protector; supporter; bondsman; defender; promoter.
This word can be used for humans too. But when we use for Allah we have different intention. We cannot use this word for anyone other than Allah Subhan wa Ta’ala with that intention. I don’t know in what context Ahle Tashayu use the word. We should be very careful May be it can take us to the shirk.
Mowlana is commonly used term which is same. مولى with attached pronoun نا (our). In Quran last ayah of AlBaqarah, Mowlana is used for Allah SWT.
