Khaybar was an offensive from Muslims. Banu-Nazir’s chief and his son joined the Quraish besieging Medina during the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwa e Ahzab). In addition, Banu-Nazir paid Arabian tribes to go to war against the Muslims. Once the battle started, Banu- Nazir’s chief Huyayy ibn Akhtab persuaded the Banu-Quraiza to go against their covenant with Prophet Muhammad (sws) and turn against him during the battle. There were other plots by Jews of Kahibar to hurt the Muslims of Medina and all this scheming of Banu-Nazir was the reason for Muslims in taking an offensive against them.
