I want to know that a person who died due to covid is he a martyr?

My father had covid and his lungs were affected due to it. He was in icu for 17 days on oxygen. After that doctors decided to put him on ventilator and before going on ventilator he read shahada. He was on ventilator for 6 days but his lungs were all damaged and he died.

I heard people saying its shahdat. But i am not sure about it and want to have clearity that if someone dies of covid is he considered shaheed?

    Jazakallah

May God shower His blessings on the soul of your father.

Shahadaah is not the only good death. Our Prophet did not embrace Shahadah, but died a natural death. However, if he laid his life while serving God, God’s bounty can elevate him to the status of Shahaahdah.
