Need A Fatwah About Iddah From Sir Javed Ahmad Ghamidi
Assalamu alikum. I want to ask that I got one divorce on message then after few months he sent me papers and it was divorce but I didn’t open. After some time we thought we should give a chance so we recombined and living again but again after 1 and a half year we had some issues and decided to end the relation. I came to my mother’s place. After 7 months he sent me divorce papers again. So i want to ask; is it considered 3 divorce and now I have toh complete iddah as well or not? Because there is 7 months gap before final divorce and there is no chance to have baby. Please i really need the answer of my question. May I get fatwah on it?
And if iddah purpose is only identify toh have a baby or not then why the iddah for khula is one month?? -

Iddah is prescribed to know the status of pregnancy. If there is no chance of pregnancy, you need not to observe Iddah.
