Hadith is not required to understand the Quran. Every verse of the Quran clearly states what’s required to be stated and meant to be understood. Hadith can be referred to in order to understand the historical details regarding a given verse, just like the Biblical history can be referred to in order to understand the historical details about another verse. In either case, only historical details might be present outside of the Quran, however, even without them the required meaning of the Quran can be clearly comprehend.

Through the context it’s very clear.

Brother there r 2 different things, quran telling something of deen (aqeeda, basic individual and social responsibilities) then quran is sufficient and doesn’t need any outside source

Haidth (historical narrative of how Quranic injunctions are acted upon) helps in practical implication. For e.g. quran is sufficient in explaining wudu for prayer. It doesn’t tell if it can be done if shoes r worn. Here hadith helps us.

If someone believes quran is sufficient in social aspects of deen then it is incorrect, similarly, someone says Quran can not be understood without hadith, this is also incorrect. If hadith was part of deen then Allah would’ve commanded it to be preserved and Muhammad SAWs and Sahaba RA as a whole would’ve taken all practical steps to preserve it just like the Quran but we see this is not the case and the reason is also quite simple.

Social circumstances r bound to change with time and place. Allah made Quran as the bedrock of deen-e-islam and hadith provides a historical narrative of implementing the quran in a particualr time and place, hence, providing muslims, both, theoretical and practical ways to live their lives acc to islam and find new ways to follow islam with changing time.
