  • Fornication For People Who Don't Want To Have Children

I’ve seen various lecture in which Ghamidi sahab is emphasizing that the ‘Institution Of Marriage’ or’ GHAR KA IDARA’ is because of the proper nourishment of the children. For there, safety, care and needs. According to him, this is ultimately the reason for the prohibition of fulfilling sexual desires without marrying the partner. Then, what if one doesn’t want to have children? If somebody is okay with having no offspring then should he still follow this prohibition?

Laws are always given keeping in mind how they apply to the general population. Humans by nature want to have children. Until the day when a big majority of human population have decided to not have any more offsprings, the law of God in this regard must still be followed by every God fearing person, regardless of their individual choice to have children or not. The law of God in this regard is that physical relationship between a man and a woman can only be established between a husband and a wife.

    وَلَا تَقۡرَبُوا الزِّنٰٓى اِنَّهٗ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً  ؕ وَسَآءَ سَبِيۡلًا‏

(17:32) (viii) Do not even approach fornication for it is an outrageous act, and an evil way.32

I think when Allah SWT said something there is no question. Full stop.

” تلك حدود الله ” “Those are the limits [set by] Allah”. This is mentioned in four verses of the Qur’an in various contexts. Yet they are all teaching us where we should be, should not be or go beyond.

It is amazing to know that permissibility is the default rule unless else is stated precisely and clearly. It is out of the mercy of Allah indeed, for our own advantage; that the sign is up and made known to all.
