Quran 6:111 – Free Will In Iman
۞ وَلَوۡ أَنَّنَا نَزَّلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ وَكَلَّمَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَحَشَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ كُلَّ شَیۡءࣲ قُبُلࣰا مَّا كَانُوا۟ لِیُؤۡمِنُوۤا۟ إِلَّاۤ أَن یَشَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ یَجۡهَلُونَ ﴿ ١١١ ﴾
• ابوالاعلی مودودی:
اگر ہم فرشتے بھی ان پر نازل کردیتے اور مُردے ان سے باتیں کرتے اور دنیا بھر کی چیزوں کو ہم ان کی آنکھوں کے سامنے جمع کردیتے تب بھی یہ ایمان لانے والے نہ تھے، اِلّا یہ کہ مشیَّتِ الٰہی یہی ہو کہ وہ ایمان لائیں، مگر اکثر لوگ نادانی کی باتیں کرتے ہیں (111)
Al-An’am, Ayah 111
We read a lot about free will and this world being a test. Could you elaborate here a person gets ema’an unless Allah allows, than those who ended as unbelievers how much is that of their will? Kindly guide. JazakAllah.

The ayah is talking about both, free will and Allah’s power
The first part elaborates the stubbornness of people that even after seeing the unseen world, the angels, and conquering death, dead coming back to life. They will use their free will to decide not to believe
The second part mentions that Allah is all powerful and if, He wills (Yasha Allah) He can make non believers submit to His authority

ہم اِن کی طرف فرشتے بھی اتاردیتے اور مُردے بھی اِن سے باتیں کرنے لگتے اور (دنیا کی) سب چیزیں اِن کے سامنے گروہ در گروہ جمع کر دیتے، جب بھی یہ ماننے والے نہیں تھے، الاّ یہ کہ اللہ چاہے۔ مگر (کیاکیا جائے کہ) اِن میں سے اکثر جہالت میں مبتلا [173] ہیں۔
173 مطلب یہ ہے کہ اللہ اُنھی کو ایمان و ہدایت کی توفیق عطا فرماتا ہے جو حق کے سچے طالب ہوں۔ یہ جس جہالت میں مبتلا ہیں اور علم و استدلال سے فیصلہ کرنے کے بجاے جس طرح کی شرطیں عائد کر رہے ہیں، اُن کے ساتھ کسی کو ہدایت کی توفیق ارزانی نہیں ہوتی۔

Had Allah willed, he would have created compliance robots but those would be no good for the task man is supposed to do on Earth and that’s to excel in good work by freewill and fair means. That’s why despite God being Omnipotent, he only guides people to the right path through reasoning and does not use his powers to take away free will or the resources on man’s disposal.
