There’s no absolute requirement for women to stay at home.

Two key things to understand regarding Hadith narrations in general:

a) All narrations are contextual in nature; generally they’re either application of principles in Quran/Sunnah, or application of common sense wisdom. Without understanding the context of a narration, it’s very difficult for a common person to conclude what’s being said.

b) Narrations do not independently introduce any new laws.
