Talaq k bad iddat ki asal waja ye hai k orat k peet ki halat maloom ho jaye or shohar k pass b haq hai k wo ek khas timeframe me ruju kar sakta hai to ye dono timeframes mujhe confuse kar rahe hain. for example agar nikkah k bad mulaqat se pehle hi shohar talaq de de to iddat ka haq orat pe qaim nahi hoga magar jo shohar k pass haq hai ruju karne ka us ka kiya banne ga?

Ruju is a secondary benefit that a Husband can get during iddat period. The basic purpose of iddah is to determine whether a lady is pregnant or not; that is why iddat of a pregnant lady is till the birth of child (Al-Talaq 65: 6), whether it happens the very next day or after several months, so ruju period will be till the birth of that child as well. And when divorce happens before any intimacy between husband and wife, then there is no iddat and no ruju period as well.
