محمد بن ابو بکر کے بارے میں تمام تواریخ میں یہ متفقہ طور پر لکھا ہے کہ وہ قاتلین عثمان میں شامل تھا۔ اختلاف صرف اس میں ہے کہ اس نے اپنے ہاتھ سے انھیں قتل کیا تھا یانہیں۔ اس لیے یہ ایک روایت نہیں ہے۔
